Guatemala: President Morales tries to stop the fight against impunity

Reacting to the decision of the government of Jimmy Morales to revoke the mandate of the International Commission Against Impunity in Guatemala, Erika Guevara Rosas, Americas Director at Amnesty International, said:

“The government’s decision not to renew the mandate of the International Commission against Impunity in Guatemala, just when Congress should be analyzing the preliminary hearing against President Jimmy Morales, is another maneuver to weaken the fight against impunity in the country.”
